Jordan Flight to the city of Barbados, Argentina has been cancelled after it was reported that a person was killed in the accident.
Jordan Flight to Barbadas, Argentina cancelled over passenger deathA Jordanian flight from the capital Amman to the tourist town of Barbados was to be diverted to Barbadas airport after a passenger was killed on board the flight.
The incident occurred on Saturday morning when a passenger on the flight from Jordan to Barbalas Airport was pronounced dead, according to the Jordanian Airports Authority.
A passenger on board, a woman, was reportedly found unconscious in the plane cabin after the accident, the report said.
Passengers said that the person was pronounced deceased at the scene.
“We are very sorry for the tragedy.
It is our deepest regret for the tragic loss of this person and our thoughts are with the family and friends of the victim,” said Jordan Airlines CEO, Alaa al-Khalili.
Al-Khawili also said that there are no passengers on board but that the airline is in touch with the Jordanian Ministry of Civil Aviation and will take all necessary steps to ensure that the safety of all passengers is maintained.
After the accident was reported, Jordan Airports and Tourism Authority announced that the flight was cancelled.
There are currently no plans to resume flights to Barabados, according the airline.
Jordan Airways announced that it is suspending flights to the tourism hub.
Aviation authorities in the Gulf Arab region have not yet issued a statement on the incident, according a Jordanian source.
The country is currently embroiled in a dispute with Qatar over the construction of a new airfield for the country’s capital, Doha.
The dispute stems from the government’s decision to close the Doha International Airport in March.
